University of Southern Maine (USM) had a vision for creating a new dynamic campus center on its Portland campus. The new building would incorporate the most advanced energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable systems. The design was already 95% complete and significantly over budget when USM hired Wright-Ryan Construction. We reduced the construction budget by 10% while preserving the owner’s program and the architect’s design intent. Saving money and building green is a hallmark of Wright-Ryan. The building achieved LEED Gold Certification and is the focal point of the growing USM Portland campus.
